Meet Matthew DeGarmo
Unparalleled craftsmanship with Matthew DeGarmo, a highly skilled craftsman dedicated to creating luxurious, custom cabinetry for your perfect custom kitchen remodel.
Matthew's Story
Matthew DeGarmo’s journey as a craftsman is a rich tapestry woven with tradition, passion, and a commitment to excellence. Trained by his father, Thomas DeGarmo, Matthew grew up immersed in the art of cabinetry. His father’s company, DeGarmo Cabinets, was established in 1979 in Tahoe, California, laying the foundation for a family legacy of craftsmanship.
In 1986, the DeGarmos moved to San Diego, where Coronado Cabinets was born. Here, Matthew honed his skills further, working alongside his father to create beautiful cabinetry for a growing clientele. By 1990, the family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and launched New Look Kitchens, which became a local staple for innovative designs and quality craftsmanship until 2006.
Taking his expertise to Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear, California, Matthew opened DeGarmo Kitchen Design, where he created bespoke cabinetry for clients from 2006 to 2016. His passion for challenging projects led him to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, in 2017, where he remodeled boutique hotels, followed by a move to Hawaii to focus on custom cabinetry and renovations.
In 2022, Matthew relocated to his wife's hometown in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. While in the Windy City, he embraced a new chapter working in mid-century modern furniture restoration. Yet, his heart remained with kitchen design and cabinetry. Fueled by his lifelong love for the craft, Matthew founded DeGarmo Kitchens and Cabinetry in 2024, where he continues to create stunning, custom kitchens that reflect the artistry and skill passed down through generations.

Matthew transformed our kitchen into a dream space! His craftsmanship and attention to detail are unmatched. Highly recommend Degarmo Kitchens for luxury cabinetry work!
